KORN Honors A Marine (Video)
September 4, 2012At a recent show in Indiana, KORN frontman Jonathan Davis was presented with the uniform of U.S. Marine William H. Crouse IV, who was killed in Afghanistan two years ago. In the clip below from the gig, Crouse's brother, Ryan Rothman, talks about what the band meant to the both of them, and KORN pays tribute to U.S. troops from the stage.
Rothman tells Davis, "I want to give this uniform formally to you on behalf of my family. The inspiration you have had on my life and the impact of things you've brought me through and the things we shared through you and your music, I wanted him to be with you."
The singer replies, "I feel for your loss. We've lost a lot of kids, but it wasn't in vain; it was to keep our way of life going. I will have a special place for this, always."
Davis has done a lot of work with the USO and the Wounded Warriors, visiting injured members of the military in hospitals.
KORN's latest album, "The Path Of Totality", saw the band teaming up with dubstep producers and DJs to add a whole new electronic layer to their sound.
Much of the material for the album was recorded at Davis' home studio, and he laid down vocals at home or in hotel rooms while on tour.
